The Marin Catholic Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Albany Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Albany will be up against a hot Marin Catholic squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Wildcats blew past Lowell 12-2 on Monday. Marin Catholic's win was all the more impressive since the Cardinals were averaging only 3.7 runs allowed on the season.

Bella Ferrety was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Berringer, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Marin Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .529 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Tuesday. Albany was the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Campolindo. The high-scoring effort was just what Albany needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Tehya Hancock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Hancock was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauren Jones, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Leila Sosa also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Marin Catholic pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Albany, their record now sits at 5-6.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Marin Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .404. However, it's not like Albany struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Marin Catholic couldn't quite finish off Albany in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 and fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
