The Norwell Knights will challenge the Homestead Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Norwell 4, Homestead 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Norwell is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Marion with a sharp 15-5 victory on Wednesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Giants recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Kara Brown made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Norwell got a massive performance out of Reese Frauhiger, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Frauhiger has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Young, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Norwell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
While Homestead didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran on Thursday.
The team relied heavily on Maddy Rodgers, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Grace Jordan, who went 1-for-4 with two runs.
Homestead has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Norwell, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Norwell's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Knights have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Homestead, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Norwell continue to outrun the ball?
Norwell might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Homestead in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
