It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Byron Nelson Bobcat can now relate to. They were beaten by the Dragons 56-7 on Saturday. Byron Nelson's defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.
Tom Von grote threw for 150 yards on nine of 19 attempts.
Landon Farco was his top target, picking up 66 receiving yards. On the ground,
Tucker James rushed for 35 yards.
Davis Penn was his usual excellent self, rushing for 143 yards and four touchdowns for Southlake Carroll. Penn hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Riley Wormley was another major influence, as he rushed for 61 yards and ran in a TD.
Byron Nelson's defeat dropped their record down to 13-1. As for Southlake Carroll, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.
Byron Nelson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southlake Carroll will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against DeSoto at 2:00 p.m. on December 9th. DeSoto is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
