Pieper has won six straight games at home, while Alamo Heights has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Pieper Warriors will be home for the holidays to greet the Alamo Heights Mules at 6:30 p.m. Pieper is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Pieper against Boerne-Champion as the squad secured a 64-33 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pieper to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alisha Peavy, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Arianna Davis, who posted 12 points and five steals.
Pieper smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Alamo Heights' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by Boerne 65-27. While losing is never fun, the Mules can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 178th).
Pieper will have to contain Berkley Hart as she made an impact in Alamo Heights' last game. She put up 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Hart's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.
Pieper has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points per game. As for Alamo Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Pieper has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Alamo Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.4 rebounds.
