8A District 6 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Plant extended the longest winning streak in 8A District 6 this week by beating Bloomingdale, 51-20. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Plant took down the Bulls 51-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Aaron Banks threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 90 yards in the win.
Jeff Keil was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 161 yards as Wharton bested Bloomingdale. Teammate Vernon Hargreaves III added to the ground attack by rushing for 23 yards.
Cooper was the best wideout in the league this week as the Panthers beat John Booth's team. Cooper tallied two receptions for 101 yards. Wesley Bullock helped Plant's passing attack out by catching three balls for 74 yards.
The Wildcats' Chase Litton and Keith (KJ) Hopkins have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 8A District 6 in both passing and receiving yards. Litton has thrown for 2079 yards this season, while Hopkins, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 37 catches for 729 yards. Alonso's Ish Witter leads the league in rushing yards with 884.
Plant led the league in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on the Bulls. Banks in the win.
