Brandon Lavia and Drew Scales provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Carlisle. The longest such play in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth this season, the connection resulted in 77 yards.
Central Dauphin extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Thundering Herd, 31-10. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Mifflin County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Shane Whalen threw for 179 and one touchdown and Curtis Jerzerick had 102 yards receiving. On the ground Kyle Kahley chipped in 125 yards. John Michael Maclay helped Mifflin County's passing attack out by catching two balls for 46 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback pat irwin of State College is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1096. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, Central Dauphin's Scales has rushed for 926 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan Bowman. The Central Dauphin star has 26 catches for 390 yards.
Scales of the Glen McNamee's team is only 74 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth this week will be when Cumberland Valley takes on the Little Lions. The Eagles are in fourth place, while State College is in second place.
The Rams took down Carlisle 31-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Scales ran for 69 yards and caught two passes for 69 yards in the win.
