The Cross Christian Academy Centurions on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Phelps Lions at 3:45 p.m. on January 17th. One thing working in Cross Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Cross Christian Academy can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest back in December of 2023. They ended the year with a bang, routing Hightstown 84-61. Given Cross Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 14th in Delaware, while Hightstown is ranked 199th in New Jersey), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cross Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tavaris Hall out in front who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Brewington, who scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, even though Solebury scored an imposing 74 points on Monday, Phelps still came out on top. Phelps sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 77-74 victory over Solebury. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Phelps has posted yet this season.
Cross Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Phelps, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-10.
