North Kitsap is 8-1 against Olympic since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Kitsap Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Olympic Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North Kitsap had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past Sequim 45-11 on the road. Given North Kitsap's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Sequim is ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Olympic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 48.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 52-8 win over North Mason. With Olympic ahead 31-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Riley Mccoy, who rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Antonio Castorena was another key contributor, throwing for 94 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.
North Kitsap's victory was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.5 points per game. As for Olympic, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
