Canton dropped their record down to 8-6-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 4-0 to the Franklin Patriots. The Cobras were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Franklin, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

For Franklin's part, they got a great performance from Corbin Kozlowski as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Kozlowski has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryan Davis was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. He has been hot, having posted three or more hits the last seven times he's played.

Coming up, Canton will head out to challenge Roosevelt at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Franklin, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Richmond at 11:00 a.m. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
