After a string of five wins, the Holston Cavaliers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-34 loss at the hands of Grundy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Holston in their matchups with Grundy: they've now lost three in a row.
It was another big night for Jonah Looney, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds for Grundy. The game was Looney's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan McClanahan, who scored 15 points.
Holston's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. As for Grundy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holston will take on Patrick Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Patrick Henry knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Holston likes a good challenge. Grundy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Twin Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Twin Valley is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
