Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Plainfield Quakers walked away with it. They really took it to the Patriots for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-12 win on the road. Plainfield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 24 points or more this season.
Hannah Menser was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Payton Benge was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Terre Haute North Vigo struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They are 1-3 when they can't control their own glass like that.
The win (which was Plainfield's third in a row) raised their record to 17-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.
Plainfield will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Pike at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. One thing working in Plainfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. Terre Haute North Vigo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
