Mehlville won the last time they met up with Seckman, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Mehlville were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Seckman 49-7. Mehlville were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Mehlville got off to a slow start in their previous match, but they had no such trouble against Seckman and cruised to a 21-point first half. Seckman put up 7, so the score was 21-7 at the half. The Mehlville defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game. The win bumped Mehlville's record up to 3-2. The defeat dropped Seckman's record to 4-1.
Mehlville will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Northwest. Mehlville will be strutting in after a victory while Northwest will be stumbling in from a loss. As for Seckman, they will face off against Oakville. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous matchup, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
