They strolled past Traders Point Christian with points to spare, taking the game 69-52. Winning is a bit easier when you make eight more threes than your opponent, as Phalen Leadership Academy did.
Phalen Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Murry, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Brenton Smith was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Traders Point Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joel Cook, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Fisher, who scored 14 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Phalen Leadership Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Traders Point Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Phalen Leadership Academy will square off against Columbus HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Columbus HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games. As for Traders Point Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Indianapolis Shortridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indianapolis Shortridge is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
