If the Upsala Cardinals were riding high off their 70-33 takedown of the Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] Huskies last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Upsala was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 39-38 to Osakis. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Upsala of the 51-37 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Upsala lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dakota Soltis, who scored 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Ripplinger, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Upsala's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Osakis, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Upsala will head out on the road to face off against Browerville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Osakis, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at 7:15 p.m.
