The South Webster Jeeps scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Paint Valley on the road to the tune of 61-29. With South Webster ahead 42-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
South Webster's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Skylar Zimmerman led the charge by scoring 26 points along with five assists and five steals. The matchup was Zimmerman's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isabella Claxon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Paint Valley saw an underclassman step up: Karris Dye scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Dye is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
South Webster pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for Paint Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Webster will challenge Green at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Green will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 495th, while South Webster is ranked 230th). As for Paint Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Hillsboro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
