After a string of three wins, the Powers Catholic Chargers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saginaw. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Powers Catholic has scored all season.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jesse Cull, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Kelly, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and five assists.
Powers Catholic's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Saginaw, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powers Catholic will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Saginaw, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. Heritage has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 605 points over their last nine matchups.
