Mountain Valley recap October 8, 2013
East Stroudsburg South extended the longest winning streak in Mountain Valley this week by beating Louis E. Dieruff, 35-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Pleasant Valley and Pocono Mountain East played the closest game in the league this week, with Pleasant Valley eventually emerging with a 28-22 victory.
William Allen's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Canaries feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Courtney Watson has thrown for 339 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Justice Anderson has 17 catches for 217 yards. Watson also leads the league in rushing with 333 yards.
The top two teams in Mountain Valley will face off this week when first place East Stroudsburg South takes on second place Pleasant Valley.
William Allen lost to Pocono Mountain West 35-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Charlie Muniz was a bright spot for the Canaries, as he ran for 67 yards in the defeat.
