The Channelview Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Deer Park 65-15. Channelview was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.
Deer Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Goodson, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Jada McCormick was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Channelview's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.8 points per game. As for Deer Park, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-13.
Channelview will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pasadena focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Deer Park, they will head out on the road to face off against the Texans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sam Rayburn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 968th, while the Deer are ranked 401st).
