Tri-Valley recap October 22, 2013
Pine Grove added to the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley this week by beating Line Mountain, 35-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Cardinals.
Upper Dauphin Area moved up to 399 from 458 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of beating East Juniata 33-22.
Halifax's dynamic duo of Mason Erdman and Eric Johnston proved to be unstoppable against Tri-Valley, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Erdman threw for 319 yards and 2 touchdowns and Johnston had 111 yards receiving. Jarrett Hoy helped Halifax's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 82 yards.
He went 19-35 with 5 interceptions.
Trey Campbell was a beast in the backfield as Upper Dauphin Area bested the Tigers.
Williams Valley's Stephen Sedesse and Cody Miller led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Sedesse has thrown for 1,130 yards this season, while Miller has 24 catches for 649 yards. The Bulldogs' Hunter Harner leads the league in rushing yards with 1,114.
Cole Barnhardt of the the Vikings is only 43 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 124 carries Barnhardt has accumulated 957 yard this year.
A big matchup in Tri-Valley this week will be when Tri-Valley takes on Pine Grove. At the moment, Mike Ulicny's team is in third, while Jeff Sampson's team is in first.
The Buffaloes took down Millersburg 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
