Point Loma's and El Capitan's game on Tuesday was close at halftime, but Point Loma turned on the heat in the second half with 46 points. The Point Loma Pointers were the clear victor by a 65-41 margin over the El Capitan Vaqueros. The Pointers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Point Loma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Stewart, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Na'Sean Hardy, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Point Loma smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

El Capitan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevin Curo, who posted eight points and 15 rebounds. Curo is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Point Loma's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for El Capitan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Point Loma wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-50 victory against Clairemont on the 20th. As for El Capitan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-45 loss against Canyon Hills on the 19th.
