The Garinger Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rocky River Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Garinger suffered their biggest defeat yet this season two weeks ago. They had to suffer through a rough 68-30 loss at the hands of Charlotte Catholic. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garinger in their matchups with Charlotte Catholic: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Garinger had strong showings from Misa Garris, who scored 11 points, and Kim'mya Kelly, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Garinger struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Rocky River was beaten by Providence 60-27 on Thursday. Rocky River has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Garinger's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5. As for Rocky River, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9.
Garinger was able to grind out a solid victory over Rocky River when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 41-33. Does Garinger have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rocky River turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
