Canyon View has gone 6-1 against North Sanpete recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Falcons will square off against the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Canyon View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Canyon View is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Ogden with a sharp 16-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Chandler McClellan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). McClellan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Price Atwood was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and two triples. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jarron Bradshaw, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.
Canyon View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times North Sanpete and Carbon have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Dinos 4-3. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by just one run.
Peyton Rostron tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. North Sanpete is 2-1 when Rostron allows one or fewer earned runs, but 10-12 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyson Guidos, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Maddex Bailey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
North Sanpete's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Canyon View, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.
Everything went Canyon View's way against North Sanpete in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Canyon View made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
