Calloway County has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Calloway County Lakers and the Butler County Bears will round out the year against one another at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Calloway County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Butler County in Kentucky (Calloway County is ranked 43rd, while Butler County is ranked 153rd).
Calloway County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 23 points or more this season. They really took it to Hopkins County Central for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-31 win at home.
Calloway County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jaidan Koch, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, and Sayler Lowe, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds. The matchup was Lowe's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Lexi McClure was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Butler County pushed their score all the way to 90 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Marion County 96-90. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (56), Butler County still had to take the loss.
Calloway County pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.33 points. As for Butler County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
