The Andrews Wildcats can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They put the hurt on Hiwassee Dam with a sharp 74-54 victory. Given Andrews' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Hiwassee Dam is ranked 636th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Andrews' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Rattler, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Rattler is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Clark, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 5 assists.
Andrews' win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Hiwassee Dam, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Andrews and Blue Ridge Early College will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Hiwassee Dam, they will be playing at home against Robbinsville at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robbinsville is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
