The Galena Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of Carson by a score of 52-49. Galena was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Galena still got an impressive performance from Ava Wulforst, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wulforst has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Hansen, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Lauren Finnerty continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Carson, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dahlia Keating, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Galena has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season. As for Carson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-15.
Galena will head out on the road to square off against Reed at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Reed has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Carson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Manogue at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Manogue will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Carson surely won't give up without a fight.
