Colerain is 1-9 against the Indians since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Colerain Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Fairfield Indians at 7:30 p.m. Colerain is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Colerain took a serious blow against the Thunderhawks, falling 57-11. While losing is never fun, Colerain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 514th, while the Thunderhawks are ranked 42nd).
Meanwhile, Fairfield's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 45-38 to Milford. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fairfield in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Colerain's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Fairfield, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Colerain, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-32 loss to the Indians in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fairfield's Myka Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Colerain knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
