Softball Recap: Wahoo Adds Another Dominant Win to Their Ledger

Wahoo had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Nebraska City on Thursday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Pioneers. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Avery Hanson was excellent, going 1-for-2 while logging 1 home run, 3 runs, and 2 RBIs. Those three runs set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Karryn Eddie, who went a perfect 3-for-3 while logging 2 runs, 1 stolen base, and 1 RBI.

Wahoo took advantage of their speed and finished the game with three stolen bases. They have not posted that many stolen bases since August 31st, when they also snagged three.

Wins have been accumulating steadily for Wahoo, who have claimed victory in 15 of their first 16 matchups to sit at 15-1. The victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.9 runs this season. As for Nebraska City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's done some real damage to their 7-6-1 record this season.

Wahoo will venture away from home to take on Douglas County West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nebraska City, they will face off against Platteview at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
