Lincoln County hasn't had much luck against Marion County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Patriots will square off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Lincoln County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Saturday, Lincoln County didn't have quite enough to beat Holy Cross and fell 8-7.

Tucker Foster was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Lincoln County is 2-1 when Foster posts three or more hits, but 9-18 otherwise.
Foster wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Ralston, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Grady Foster was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Marion County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Bethlehem. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since April 1st.
Trey Rakes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.
Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Marion County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
Lincoln County came up short against Marion County when the teams last played back in March, falling 11-7. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
