The Clearwater/Orchard offense pulled no punches in the first half and blazed their way to 32 points. Meanwhile, St. Mary's couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 32-0 heading into the break. Clearwater/Orchard put the game away in the third quarter with 16 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
Senior Chris Kester was the offensive standout of the match for Clearwater/Orchard, as he threw 4 TDs and picked up 51 yards on the ground. If you haven't heard Kester's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past seven games. The Clearwater/Orchard defense stepped up as well to lay out the quarterback five times. The win was the 5th in a row for Clearwater/Orchard, as they raised their record to 6-1. The loss dropped St. Mary's' record to 2-5.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Clearwater/Orchard take on Chambers/Wheeler Central/Ewing at 3:00 PM. As for St. Mary's, they will face off against Twin Loup.
