Despite their defeat, Victory Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Austin Dill, who threw for 178 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Owens, who picked up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Coastal Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The match between Coastal Academy and Foothills Christian wasn't particularly close, with Coastal Academy falling 42-27.
Despite the loss, Coastal Academy had strong showings from Nathaniel Benavides, who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns, and Luke Terpstra, who picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Victory Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Coastal Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Victory Christian Academy against Coastal Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 50-12 win.
