Even though the Shaker Bison have not done well against the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Shaker strolled past Saratoga Springs with points to spare, taking the game 60-43. Given Shaker's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Saratoga Springs is ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shaker's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayla Geter, who scored 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Giada Lanni, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Shaker's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Saratoga Springs, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaker's road trip will continue as they head out to face Shenendehowa at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Shenendehowa will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Saratoga Springs, they will head out on the road to challenge Troy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
