Oaks-Mission is 3-0 against Copan since August of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Oaks-Mission Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Copan Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Oaks-Mission will be strutting in after a victory while Copan will be coming in after a loss.
After only six points in their last contest, Oaks-Mission made sure to put some points up on the board against Bluejacket last Friday. Oaks-Mission breezed by Bluejacket on the road to the tune of 66-28.
Oaks-Mission's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jakeb Walker, who rushed for 279 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry, and Malakye Hawley, who rushed for 265 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry.
Oaks-Mission's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-16, which was the final score in Copan's tilt against Coyle on Friday.
Oaks-Mission's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Copan, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Oaks-Mission against Copan in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 80-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oaks-Mission since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
