After a string of four wins, the Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bethune-Bowman. Bamberg-Ehrhardt lost against the Mohawks in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 71-37 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Bamberg-Ehrhardt lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Williams. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Eric Parker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Bethune-Bowman, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Branchville the next time they take the court. Bamberg-Ehrhardt will host the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Mohawks will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
