The Berea Pirates will face off against the Jackson City Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If Berea beats Jackson City with three runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Berea never let Model get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.
Nathan Prophitt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Jackson City challenged Somerset Christian on Friday. Jackson City came out on top in a nail-biter against Somerset Christian, sneaking past 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
The team relied heavily on Caige Ellis, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Morgan, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

The victory got Jackson City back to even at 3-3. As for Berea, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Berea hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Jackson City struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Berea might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Jackson City in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Berea avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
