The Harvest Christian Academy Lions can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Earlville at home to the tune of 57-25. Harvest Christian Academy pushed the score to 42-19 by the end of the third, a deficit Earlville had little chance of recovering from.
Harvest Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ellie Semerau, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Semerau has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Burke, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Loss or not, Earlville got some senior leadership from Madyson Olson and Nevaeh Sansone. Olson scored eight points along with 12 rebounds, while Sansone. scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Harvest Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. As for Earlville, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-22.
Harvest Christian Academy will be playing at home against Somonauk/Leland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Harvest Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Earlville, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Westminster Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Earlville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
