Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milby). They blew past the Sharpstown Apollos 24-5 on Tuesday. The Buffs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Natalie Lara was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Hannah Salazar was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Alexa Leal was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Milby kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
