The Pius X Thunderbolts stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Fremont 83-43 at home. Winning may never get old, but Pius X sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Pius X's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Treyson Anderson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Anderson hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellan Humm, who scored 17 points.
Despite the loss, Fremont saw an underclassman step up: Coriahnn Gallatin scored 16 points. Harold Kennedy was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two blocks.
Pius X has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Fremont, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pius X will take on Lincoln Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pius X's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Fremont, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kearney at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Kearney focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
