The Mill Creek Hawks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They secured a 24-18 W over Collins Hill. Given Mill Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked first, while Collins Hill is ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mill Creek was led to victory by Trajen Greco and Shane Throgmartin. Greco picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Throgmartin threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns. Cameron Robinson and his 86 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Mill Creek's victory.
Collins Hill's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Quentin Grambo, who picked up 97 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Tj Wilcox, who threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns.
Mill Creek's victory was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.7 points per game. As for Collins Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mill Creek will challenge Dacula at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dacula is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Collins Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Gwinnett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
