After flying high against the Gibbon Buffaloes on Thursday, the St. Paul Wildcats came back down to earth. St. Paul ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-43 walloping at the hands of Doniphan-Trumbull on Saturday. St. Paul has not had much luck with Doniphan-Trumbull recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Doniphan-Trumbull found their leader in underclassman Jack Poppe, who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Volk, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
St. Paul's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Paul will take on Wood River at TBD on Thursday. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, they will be playing at home against St. Cecilia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
