While losing is never fun, Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1371st, while St. Stephen's Episcopal is ranked 557th).
St. Stephen's Episcopal got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kennedy Lartigue out in front who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Evie Kadyan was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.
Coincidentally, Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart and St. Stephen's Episcopal will both be playing St. Andrew's the next time they take the court. Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart will host St. Andrew's at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, while St. Stephen's Episcopal will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
