The Princeton Tigers will face off against the Loogootee Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Princeton will be strutting in after a win while Loogootee will be coming in after a defeat.
On Monday, Princeton beat South Knox 6-2. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.
Brooklyn Turpin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kimberlyn Wood, who scored a run while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Whitehead, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Wood wasn't the only one making solid contact: Princeton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Loogootee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Orleans, falling 17-5. Lions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Monday.
Loogootee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Green, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Green also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
Loogootee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Princeton, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Loogootee's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Princeton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Loogootee, though, as they've been averaging only 2 strikeouts. Will Princeton keep running through batters, or will the Lions buck the trend?
Princeton was able to grind out a solid victory over Loogootee when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 9-4. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
