Jakob Moore made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Moore was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trenton Watson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Wyatt Boice was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.
Wirt County's record now sits at 6-2. As for Webster County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Webster County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Wirt County struggles in that department as they've averaged .484. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
