The DePue Little Giants's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Earlville 62-32. DePue has struggled against Earlville recently, as their contest on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, DePue still got an impressive performance from Pancho Moreno, who scored ten points.
Earlville was led to victory by Griffin Cook and Adam Waite. Cook scored 16 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds, while Waite dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Cook has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trenton Fruit, who scored 14 points.
DePue has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Earlville, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-2.
DePue won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Henry-Senachwine at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Earlville, they will be playing at home against Serena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Serena will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Earlville surely won't give up without a fight.
