River Forest has gone 8-2 against Lake Station Edison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Ingots will take on the Fighting Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Lake Station Edison will be up against a hot River Forest squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Ingots blew past Hammond Central 16-3 on Friday. Considering the Ingots have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brandon Fergerson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Walter Jaime, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Roberto Herrera was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
River Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hammond Central only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Station Edison). They were the clear victors by a 26-14 margin over East Chicago Central on Thursday. With that win, the Fighting Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.
Clayton Hammons was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Moore, who went 3-for-6 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
River Forest pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Station Edison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.
Lake Station Edison's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: River Forest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. It's a different story for Lake Station Edison, though, as they've only averaged .226. Will they be able to contain River Forest's hitters?
River Forest took their win against Lake Station Edison in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ingots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
