Hialeah has enjoyed the comforts of home their last six games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Carol City Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hialeah is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carol City in Florida (Hialeah is ranked 164th, while Carol City is ranked 336th).
Last Thursday, Hialeah's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 26-20 victory over Miami.
Hialeah can attribute much of their success to Ryan Mathis, who rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Damarcus Anderson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Carol City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Central, falling 50-0. Carol City was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Hialeah's victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Miami Beach and 0-9 Hialeah-Miami Lakes (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 23.7% over those games). As for Carol City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
