The Westminster Lions will be home for the holidays to greet the La Quinta Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Westminster scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They snuck past Savanna with a 87-81 victory.
Westminster can attribute much of their success to Eric Hoang, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds, and Sean Le, who scored 24 points. The game was Le's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Matt Tran, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
La Quinta can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game two weeks ago. They strolled past Garden Grove with points to spare, taking the game 61-46.
Westminster now has a winning record of 6-5. As for La Quinta, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
Westminster beat La Quinta 70-58 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Does Westminster have another victory up their sleeve, or will La Quinta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
