Rivercrest took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 29-14 victory over the Gosnell Pirates. The Colts pushed the score to 29-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.
A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Cavonta Washington and his top target Jayden Young. Washington rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns while Young gained 114 total yards and a touchdown. Young got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 76 yards. Joe Louis Ralph was in the mix too, providing Rivercrest with a touchdowns.
Rivercrest wouldn't let Gosnell keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Rivercrest can thank Jakavion Williams and Ralph for forcing both of them.
