Flag Football Recap: Mceachern Drops Season-High Score on T.H.R.I.V.E. Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McEachern). They blew past the T.H.R.I.V.E. Christian Academy Victors, posting a 47-0 victory. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Victors are ranked 310th) , the win on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of McEachern's win came down to the chemistry between Ava George and her top target Desirae Holley. George threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns while Holley picked up 90 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 54 yards. Ava Couzens was another key player, throwing for 57 yards and two TDs.

McEachern's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 14 times. Anais Fraser led the group effort, picking up six of those sacks all by herself. She is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last ten games she's played.

The victory (which was McEachern's fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.5 points on average over those games. As for T.H.R.I.V.E. Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Coming up, McEachern will challenge Marietta at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for T.H.R.I.V.E. Christian Academy, they will welcome Douglass at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
