The Polytechnic Parrots were the 36-34 winner over the Turner Lions when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Polytechnic fell 55-42 to Turner on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Polytechnic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1233rd, while Turner is ranked 472nd).
It was another big night for Rodney Gray, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals for Turner. The matchup was Gray's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrell Jefferson, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Polytechnic's loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Turner, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record.
Polytechnic's road trip will continue as they head out to face Benbrook at 4:30 p.m. on December 7th. As for Turner, they will take on Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
