The Plantation Colonels suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 74-45 loss at the hands of Northwestern. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Plantation has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Plantation still got an impressive performance from Daterrius Heller, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabari Washington, who scored ten points.
It was another big night for Calvin Russel, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds for Northwestern. That makes it three consecutive games in which Russel has scored at least a third of Northwestern's points. Giovanny Desire was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Plantation's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Northwestern, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plantation will take on Everglades at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Everglades is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. Northwestern will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Norland at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Norland is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.8 points per game.
